Program Overview
FABRIC’s Industrial Sewing Certification & Apprenticeship Program is designed to prepare participants for careers as industrial sewing technicians in factory settings. This comprehensive training program combines classroom learning with hands-on apprenticeship opportunities to ensure participants develop the necessary skills to thrive in the industrial sewing industry.
Certification Details
- Duration: 192 hours of in-class training over 12 weeks.
- Outcome: Participants will receive certification in industrial sewing upon completing the 192 hours of training.
Apprenticeship Details
- Requirement: Over 2000 hours of paid apprenticeship work.
- Opportunities: FABRIC will connect participants to potential sewing factories to complete apprenticeship hours.
- Note: While FABRIC will use its connections to assist participants in finding apprenticeship placements, employment is not guaranteed.
Program Cost
- Fee: $2000 (covers partial instructor fees).
- Included Costs: Equipment, supplies, fabric practice swatches, notebooks, and use of the building/location are all covered.
- Funding Sources: Additional costs are covered by AZ DES Workforce Development.
Eligibility Requirements
This program is specifically designed for individuals pursuing a career as industrial sewing technicians. Participants must have a genuine interest in acquiring skills for employment in factory sewing environments.
If your goal is to learn sewing for personal projects or hobbies, FABRIC offers alternative classes, such as Beginning Sewing, which may better suit your interests.
