F.A.B.R.I.C. Wins Business Community Impact Award
On November 1st, the Downtown Tempe Authority held the State of Downtown event inside F.A.B.R.I.C. This annual event features speakers including Tempe Mayor Mark Mitchelland is meant to update the public on new projects, business success stories, and future goals of the downtown Tempe area that will put downtown into the global place making perspective.
DTA also recognizes people and companies that are helping to make Downtown Tempe the vibrant urban hub that it is today, through the Impact Awards. Awards are given to businesses, corporations, or individuals that are making great contributions in downtown. F.A.B.R.I.C. won the Business Community Impact Award for business initiatives, that promote the development of the Downtown Tempe Business Community!
LabelHorde produced a fashion show set to a beautiful live strings trio featuring the designs of Jeanne Hankerson of SJ Couture (AZ Apparel Foundation Board Member), Jared Yazzie of OxDx (AZ Apparel Foundation Scholarship Winner), Mabel Cortez of Mabella Chic (Creator of The FABRIC Studio inside FABRIC), Ellen Dayan of Tiger Lily Dress Shop (FABRIC tenant, instructor, contract production manager and overall champion of the fashion incubator) and Sam Hamati of Hamati Designs(AZ Apparel Foundation Volunteer).
We are so honored and excited to have been chosen for this award in our first year! We are also honored and humbled every day to have the support and encouragement of the City of Tempe and organizations like the Downtown Tempe Authority.
