No scrap left behind!
reFABRICate

Sustainability is at the core of FABRIC. And since our mission is to provide apparel entrepreneurs with training, guidance, innovative industry resources, and access to no-minimum and on-demand manufacturing, so they can build sustainable fashion businesses domestically, we do everything we can to encourage and support sustainability. We offer no-minimum manufacturing so that a brand isn't forced to overproduce and end up with excess unsold inventory. Our landfills are full enough! But like all manufacturers, we'll end up with left over scraps on the cutting room floor. So, instead of tossing those in the trash, we figure out creative ways to reFABRICate them!
- Community members can partake in the program at FABRIC by adding these scraps to a statement wall in the FABRIC event space. This public art project is an effort to bring awareness to the importance of fashion sustainability and will become a unique photo backdrop created by the community. Next time you're at FABRIC, take a moment to add a scrap to the wall and join us spreading the message of sustainability! Simply take a selfie in front of your addition to the wall, share on social media, and tag @FabricTempe and #reFABRICate.
- We donate our cutting floor scraps to local designers to repurpose into garments under the label reFABRICate. If you're a local designer and would like to pick up scraps to use to make new garments, contact us and arrange a time to dig through the scrap bin. First come, first served. We may even feature these on the runway at AZ Eco Fashion Week!
- Instead of throwing our cutting floor scraps into the trash, we send them to textile recycling companies who use them to make insulation. pet bedding, and other items. If you'd like to be a volunteer who helps separate and deliver these scraps to the facilities, contact us.
Contact us to raid the scrap bin, volunteer to sort scraps, or take scraps to the recycler.
